School Provision #107: Affordable Coaching Training –
Sign Up Soon
by Bob Tschannen-Moran, August 5, 2011

We
hope you have noticed our announcements about the upcoming training
program in evocative coaching that launches in early September. This
program is an excellent way for anyone charged with instructional
leadership in schools to enhance their effectiveness and build their
credentials, especially for those who choose to become either a
"Certified Teacher Development Coach" or a "Certified School Leader
Coach."
Based on the book,
Evocative Coaching:
Transforming Schools One Conversation at a Time, this
course is taught entirely on the telephone, using an advanced
conference system that gives participants the opportunity to
practice the various components of the evocative coaching model. By
the end of the training, you will be better able to call forth
motivation and movement in the people you work with and lead. How
does this happen? Through story listening, expressing empathy,
appreciative inquiries, and design thinking.
To master those four steps in the evocative coaching model takes
more than just reading the book. It takes the active engagement and
consistent practice that come through the training program. As one
participant said, "The training program makes the book come alive
and the method more available."
Although the most economical option for participating in the
training program continues to be the early-bird discounted price of
$795 USD (available through Wednesday, August 10, 2011), the Center
for School Transformation is now offering a payment plan option that
may be helpful for many people. Three monthly payments of $310 each,
automatically charged to your credit or debit card and spread out
over the course of the training program, will get you started in
September.
In addition to the 20 hours of training, those who participate in
the program will receive four complimentary behavioral style and
emotional intelligence assessments through
Target Training International.
Two assessments are taken before the training and two are taken
after the training as part of an ongoing research project into how
emotional intelligence may be enhanced through training in evocative
coaching. This $300 value is yours free for participating in our
2011 training programs.
The training program also gives you access to our members-only
Groupsite and
makes you eligible for coach certification through the Center for
School Transformation. As a "Certified Teacher Development Coach" or
a "Certified School Leader Coach," you will be better positioned to
meet the leadership and coaching needs of challenging school
environments.
The thirteen classes are spread out across fifteen weeks, starting
in early September. You can select the class time that is most
convenient to you: either Wednesday evenings at 8 PM Eastern
Daylight Time (5 PM Pacific), beginning September 6, 201, or
Thursday evenings at 7 PM Eastern Daylight Time (4 PM Pacific),
beginning September 7, 2011. If registration warrants, additional
sections will be offered so that people around the globe can find
convenient days and times to participate. People can participate
from anywhere as long as you can make a telephone call to a phone
number in California. Cell phones and VOIP solutions such as
Skype Out or
Google Talk work
just fine.
Here, then, are the payment options:
Full payment during the early-bird registration period: $795
USD. Full payment after the early-bird registration period: $895
USD.
Payment plan at any time: three monthly payments of $310 each
(or $930 total). We encourage school districts, divisions, and
buildings to contact us directly for group registration options.
To learn more about the program, visit the
Training Tab

Contact Form on our website.
We look forward to hearing from you and to learning together better
ways to transform schools – one conversation at a time.
May you be filled with goodness, peace, and joy.
